Can Acetaminophen Cause Rectal Bleeding If Taken For More Than A Month?

Hi, I have asked you if Acetaminophen can cause rectal bleeding if taken for more than a month? I have had acute back pain for six weeks now and took Robaxacet, then Tylenol extra strength, Last week I started to bleed and so stopped taking the pills, now after three days the bleeding has stopped, but again I am in real pain. Is there any connection ???

Thanks for your query.
You have been taking Robaxacet and then the extra strong Tylenol/ Acetaminophen for back ache. These probably do not cause rectal bleeding.

Now you had rectal bleeding that stopped but hte pain in the rectum is too much.
This indicates that you may be suffering from either anal fissure with a large wound causing the pain as well as the bleeding, or prolapsed hemorrhoid and so on.
I would advise you to consult the General Surgeon for internal examination to see the diagnosis and get treated according to the findings.
