Blood Test Showed Borderline Hypothyroidism. Have Swelling Around Neck And Shoulders, Difficulty Swallowing And Insomnia. Suggest?

My doctor has done bloody tests every 6 wks or so for months and tells me my thyroid is just on the edge of hypothyroidism. I have swelling around my neck and shoulders, bursitis in my r shoulder, I aspirate at times, have difficulty swallowing and have difficulty turning my head to the right or left. I am obese, I also have asthma, fatigue, insomnia and obtrusive sleep apnea, the doctor has mentioned cushings syndrome, could he be right? I have never heard of it?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cushing syndrome is a condition in which there is high level of the cortisol hormone in the body.
There are different causes. It can be diagnosed by blood or urine tests that can check the cortisol level. If these are within normal range then the condition is not present.

This condition can cause symptoms and signs such as weight gain, depression, muscle weakness, diabetes, high blood pressure, bone thinning, sleep disturbance. It does not normally affect swallowing.

If this is suspected then appropriate tests can be done.

I hope this helps
