Please advise how can i get rid of it. My skin tone is fair to wheatish and i have uneven(patchy) skin tone.
Hello, Welcome to health care magic. You seem to be having melasma. It is a pigmentary problem, quite common in adults. Sunlight , oral contraceptive pills and hormonal imbalance are factors which can worsen it. You have to use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or more and avoid direct exposure to sunlight as much as possible. Lightening creams containing hydroquinone, Kojic acid, Arbutin, liquorice extracts , etc help. Chemical peels like Glycolic peels also help to lighten the patches. Please consult your dermatologist to formulate a plan of treatment. Hope this helped. Wish you good health!
