Arthritis In Hip. Is Riding A Recumbant Bike Not Recommened?
I want an orthopedic surgeon to respond to this question, please: I have arthritis in my hip; I ride bike outdoors in good weather, but resort to a stationary recumbant bike during 5-6 months out of the year. I have heard from a friend who is working with an orthopedic surgeon for arthritic hips that riding a recumbant bike is not recommended. Is this true? Thank you for your response.
hi,thanx for your query. well as u have been already diagnosed with arthritis u should take full care. ideally u should not ride the bike as it will cause pain aggravation .because riding a bike causes exaggerated abduction on sitting which can worsen your condition and your pain.byeee.
