Arm Pain Since Insertion Of Picc Line, Weakness And Fatigue, Knot At The Site With Bruising. Emergency?

Yes, last week I was put in ICU and a Picc line inserted. From the time of the insertion until now, my entire arm has hurt. Now, there are also weakness and fatigue in the joints and shoulder of that arm. When the bandage was removed, a knot at the site developed along w severe bruising. Should this be seen by a doctor? To this date, they have inserted about 8 picc lines at different times in the hospital and they have never caused any pain nor worry until now. Thanks, Karen

Hi,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
If there is swelling or weakness, it is wise to consult early.
Swelling/ cellulitis can cause compression of nerves and blood vessels - can cause danger to the arm.

Ge well soon.
Regards
