Hello doctor i hv periods on 7th april...my gyne told me for ultrasound for follicle study...she started u/s f.c study from 17.04.17 n she told me yesterday to hv sex....bcz my egg was not ruptured so she called me today n said for last ultrasound n vl give rupture injection....wot does it mean...

Hi, Welcome to Health care maguc. I understand your concern. During each menstrual cycle... at least one dormant ovum in ovary gets matured &is released out of ovary by rupture of fully grown &mature follicle (ovulation)..Thus released mature ovum forms female gamet&takes part in conception. All these processes are controlled by female hormones . Sometimes there is hormonal defeciency (as in pcod).. so there is problem in rupture of follicle (ovulation).resulting in failure ovulation.. making conception impossible In such case certain hormone(hcg)is injected to facilitate ovulation & conception. Your doctor is planning same for you. Thanks.
