Are Tests After Gout Attack Showing LDL 143, ALT 70, GGTP 136, C-reactive Protein 24.5, TLC 15.6, Neutrtophils 12 Concerning?
Hello Doctor, Three days back I suffered with a Gout attack caused lot of pain and swelling in my feets and below knee portion of my legs. Consequently, my doctor prescribed me few tests (LFT, GFT, Arthoritis Panel-1 and Lipidprofile). The results are as follows:-
Cholesterol (total): 217 ( shud be below 200) LDL Cholesterol : 143 ( shud be below 100) ALT (SGPT): 70 ( shud be below 50) GGTP: 136 ( shud be below 55) C-Reactive Protein: 24.50 (shud be below 5) TLC : 15.60 (Shud be b/w 4.00 to 10.00) Lympocytes : 18.60 (Shud be b/w 20.00 to 40.00) Neutrophils : 12 (Shud be b/w 2.00 to 7.00)
Hello and welcome to HCM, The lab results are as follows: The increase in TLC is due to the recent gout attack. There is increase in cholesterol and LDL. The two parameters indicate deranged lipid levels. Initially, dietary restriction of fatty foods is required. In crease the intake of fibre rich foods. Take light exercise regularly. Get the lipid profile done again after a month. If the levels do not come down to normal range, you need to consult your doctor for medication. C-reactive protein has increased due to inflammatory process in body (i.e. gout). An increase in levels of SGPT and GGTP suggest liver disease. You need to get imaging study of the right upper abdomen.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
