Are Tender And Painful To Touch Breasts Indicative Of Menopause?

Sure. I m a 52 white female and I think my issue may be menopause related but it s concerning me. My breasts are very soar for weeks at a time. They do not seem swollen, are not hot to the touch, but are very tender and painful to the touch. I am still menstruating 75% on schedule. Should I be concerned?

Thank you for your query.

A few questions for you
1) do you have or feel any lumps on your breat or underarms?
2) do you have any discolouration on the skin of your breast?
3) do you have any nipple discharge.?
4) are the symptoms worse just before your period and better right after it?

Breast tissue is very sensitive to hormones and is influenced by changes in hormone levels.

Menopause is a natural physiological process that results in end of fertility for a woman and brings along a lot of imbalances in hormones which could be causing the discomfort.

Fibrocystic disease ( benign painful cystic lumps on the breasts that cause tenderness ) could also lead to your symptoms .
I recommend a visit your OBGYN or physician for a physical exam and a mammogram to rule out any problematic issues

In the meantime, try hot packs or cool packs ( see which works for you), wear good fitting under garments and any physical activity that makes it worse.
Treatment option are available. make sure you consult you doctor about side effects and what to expect if your prescribed any medication.

hope I've helped.
please feel free to get back to us should you need further clarification.
wish you good health
