Are Soft Bumps With Red And Purple Edges Normal After Falling Down?

my 4year old daughter tripped while running down the hallway and fell forehead first into a door jam. She immediately developed a large goose egg. Its been 6hours now and some swelling has gone down, but its very soft in the center and red with purple around the edges? Usually i thought bumps should feel hard?

Hi,

Yes it is absolutely normal. It is a part of healing process. Hardness depends on the extent of inflammation that is if it is involving the dermis then infiltration of lymphocyte will make it hard.

Hope it helps. If you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
