Are Sleep Apnea, Tightness In Chest And Heart Murmur Caused Due To Mitral Valve Replacement?
hello I have sleep apnea and wear a cpap at night. I have been having pressure in my head and tightness in my chest when I lie down or just kick back in the recliner. echo showed mild MVR. also have swelling and burning around my knee for a year now and the MRI showed fluid. can these symptoms all be from the MVR if its only in mild stages. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur at age 12. I am 48 now.
Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is the most common heart abnormality. Most persons do not experience any symptoms related to this condition though some may experience problems.
In persons who have symptoms , the complaints are usually chest pain, dizziness, fatigue, palpitations and shortness of breath. It is possible that your chest pain is related to it but the discomfort in your knee is not likely to be related.
You should consider assessment by your doctor.
I hope this helps
