Are Red Rashes On The Lower Legs A Symptom Of A Yeast Infection?

I had oral thrush about 2 weeks ago. I seen my doctor and was given medication to drop in my mouth. The thrush is gone now about 3 days. Yesterday I noticed both my lower legs have a blotchy red rash and there is swirls of white in with the red. Can this be a skin yeast infection? I read that you get one from poor hygiene and not changing clothing undergarments regularly. I shower every day and am a very clean person. I change cloths sometims twice a day. This was the second time I had oral thrush in 3 months. Could this rash just be an allergic reaction to something or even from how hot it has been from the humidity?? I just had a full hysterectomy 3 months ago and that was the first time I got the oral thrush. A few days after my surgery. This rash on my legs is very red in spots and I did have this before just not so bad. What do you think? Could I have a yeast skin infection?

Hi,

On legs you got the reddish rash, is not yeast or candidal infection. It may be ecchymoses.

Take a vitamin C supplement. Apply Thrombophob ointment on the patches.

Consult the Hematologist and get investigated for bleeding disorders. You get relapses of oral thrush i.e. oral candidiasis. It may be due to poor immunity.

Take steps to improve immunity like nutritious food, exercise, meditation, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

The rash could be most probably bacterial folliculitis. Pityrosporum folliculitis is another condition which is caused by a fungus, also presents with a similar rash but the common site of the rash is the trunk. I request you to consult your Dermatologist for doing a proper examination and arriving at a final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
