Are Recurring Yellow Bruises, Common In Anemic Individuals?

I am 14 years old, female, and I have this recurring yellowish, brownish bruise on my wrist. I haven t seen it purple or blue, but it has been going off and on for a few months now. I think it might be a sign of anemia, because I do also have some symptoms of fatigue, and dizziness, such as head-rushes every now and then. My family thinks I might be over reacting, which could also be a possibility, I mean you never know I could just bruise easily, but it s the fact that the one on my wrist keeps coming back. What do you think I should do?

Hello,

I have gone through your completely query and analyzed it. The various symptoms of weakness, dizziness and fatigue are the signs of anaemia.

We never see any kind of bruising in anaemia. In bruising which are commonly known as purpura which manifest mainly as purple to reddish skin coloured spots. We never see any yellowish coloured spots as part of purpura.

I suggest you to go for a simple test of haemoglobin estimation. This test will tell you the exact amount of hemoglobin in your blood. A serum ferritin level also helps to estimate the exact amount of iron in the blood.

If these are coming on the lower side then you can take iron tablets for 2 times a day. Additionally I suggest you to take vitamin C and which can help you to treat both anemia as well as spots.

All the best.
