Are Pain And Burning After Urinating The Symptoms Of UTI?

I am 38 and have had a uti once in the past, about 9 year ago. I had the same symptoms 6 weeks ago...burning, frequency, with little urine. I was treated with Bactrim, which did nothing. Then I was treated with Cipro. I don t have any fever or backache or discharge, but still the pain and burning, especially after urinating. The frequency is not as great, and I now seem to urinate an amount normal to the amount I am drinking. Does this still sound like a UTI? What now?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query.
Burning and frequency of urination strongly suggest UTI .
You did not get positive response with Bacrim may be because the organisms may not be sensitive to Bactrim.

The ideal approach in such a situation is to do urine culture and sensitivity test to trace out the organisms causing UTI and take appropriate antibiotics to get prompt relief from symptoms .

Ensure to drink more water ,This will help to dilute the urine and reduce dysuria,
Thanks and Regards.
