Are Multiple Tiny Follicles With Central Echogenic Stroma A Huge Concern?

I am 22 year old. My periods are irregular from the beging. Now its 2 month late. So i take a ultra sound scaning. That shows right overy measures 28*17mm. Left ovary measures 24*17mm. And both show multiple tiny follicles of (9-12mm) sizes, arranged peripherally (10-12in each) with central echogemic stroma. Is it any serious problem.? What is the treatment?

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your ultrasound report is concerned you have [poly cystic ovary]as a first step your doctor may recommend weight loss through a low calorie diet combined with moderate exercise activities.even a modest reduction in your weight for instance, losing 5%of your body weight might improve your condition.

Medications which your treating doctor will prescribe you as below-:

1)contraceptive pill to regulate periods

2)metformin and clomiphen for ovulation

3)if it is not enough then FSH and LH is tried

4)if every medication failed then LETROZOLE should be tried

Hope that helps
