Are Headache And Sweating Symptoms Of Sinus Infection?
I started feeling achy and have headaches for the last 4 days. Thought it may be just exhaustion. Took my temp last night and it was 100.5. If I take ibuprofen the headaches are eased but they have been coming back within 4 hrs or so. Overnight last night I did a lot of sweating and figured I was on my way to getting beyond this but then this afternoon the headaches returned. I have had sinus infections in the past so just wondering if this just may be another. Will an antibiotic help?
Headache, sweating and fever can be caused by a sinus infection but can also be due to a common cold. Antibiotics are not generally recommended unless you have headaches longer than a week or fever more than 3 days.
Meanwhile, you may continue with ibuprofen and paracetamol, rest, drink plenty and if no better in 2-3 days or you notice any worsening you may need to see your doctor and determine the need for antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
