Are Fever, Running Nose And Swollen Lips Post Oral Sex Signs Of HIV?

Hi doctor, I am sexually active lesbian. Not to long ago I had oral sex with a girl that i fear is HIV positive. What does it mean if I have a fever , running nose and random swollen lips. I would wake up with my upper or lower lip randomly swollen. Does this mean I have HIV? I have no swollen glands but still some articles show similar symptoms to HIV.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Swollen lips on and off may be a sign of an allergic reaction. HIV does not generally cause this.

On the other hand, due to the history of intercourse with a potentially HIV positive partner, it is important that you have the blood tests for HIV done to make sure you do not have this infection.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
