Are Extreme Negative Thoughts Post Withdrawal From Depression Medications Normal?

my son is suffering from depression and anxiety disorder. he was taking asenapt 5 mg tab morning nd evening.about 3 weeks back the doctor reduced the morning dose to half.since a couple of days ago he cpmlained of negative thoughts and yelling save me,save me and also protruded his tongue and teeth clinched tightly. pl advise whether it was withdrawal or signs of some other malady. thanks
