Are Droplets Of Blood In Semen A Cause For Concern?

A couple of months ago, I noticed a bit of blood in my semen. I waited to see if it would go away (in case it was just a small infection), and after 2 weeks started drinking cranberry juice, and it cleared up. A coule of days ago, it re-occurred. Should I be concerned? Should I get some antibiotics? Thank you! Kyle

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Noted you had blood in semen...
Get your semen and urine microscopic examination..
If show pus cells then antibiotic given ...

So it could be prostatitis or seminal vesical infection...
So if pus cell present in semen then yes above two cause can be present...

If still condition not improving then semen culture needed....

Drink more water..
Excess spicy food avoided....
Cranbery juice extract tablet useful...

If pus cell also present in urine then acute urethritis associated...

Take care...
Keeping this in mind consult surgeon and get your proper examination....

Hope your concern solved.
