Are Burning Sensation In The Vagina And Malodorous Discharge In A Postmenopausal Woman Related To Vitamin Deficiency?

Hi. I am a post menopausal woman with no sexual partners for almost a year. I have an extreme burning vagina and vulva sensation, with a scant and slightly malodorous discharge. I recently cut way back on estradiol vaginal creme, because it was causing hair loss. The estradiol creme relieves the burning sensation somewhat. I had an outbreak two years that was diagnosed as a bacterial infection, only is wasn t this bad. I have been under a lot of stress recently and I am a little underweight. Could this be related to my immune system or a vitamin deficiency ?

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

As you are a post-menopausal woman I suggest you visit a gynaecologist so that he/she can perform a proper clinical examination and do a PAP smear test. Meanwhile, you can apply candid ointment locally to relieve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
