Are Accelerated Heart Rate, Chest Pain And Painful Back A Cause For Concern?

My 14yr old granddaughter has a history of accelerated heart rate (her Dad has been on medication since childhood for it)...she s complaining of chest pain like someone s squeezing my rib cage ; her lower back hurts badly and her kidney area...I took her vitals a while ago and her blood pressure was 129/82; her pulse was 98...should I be concerned enough to take her to the er? She has taken ibuprofen earlier.

Welcome to HCM,

As per your query you have accelerated heart rate, chest pain and painful back . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons , but in your case it is probably occurring due to a condition known as cardiac arrhythmia .

The symptoms indication serious heart problem .I would suggest you to consult cardiologist without any delay to prevent it becoming complicated . Because these are pre heart attack signs . Doctor may order ECG , tilt table test and complete blood profile test .

Doctor may perform vagal maneuvers , prescribe medicine for tachycardia and doctor may use cardioversion . For now take proper rest and do not exert your body . Doctor may also order angiography .
