Are 10 Stents In Blocked Arteries Harmful To Health?

I have had two bypass surgeries-4 yrs & 2 days apart-both were 2 grafts.The grafts have all died and I have had about 10 stents puts in,over the past 7 yrs. Four of them last year. In June 0f 2010,had two stents put in ,then in October I had to have another placed next to the June one-it was 90% blocked. I had a heart attack while in surgery for the June one .I am on Plavix, Isosorbide,Aspirin Bystolix ,Ranexa to name a few of my drugs.It seems as though I can only go a few months (hospitalized 5 times last year) and the blockages occur.My cholestrol & blood pressure are under control. Have really bad family genetics. How many stents are too many??

From your history it is clear that you have bad genetics responsible for such rapid progression of blocks, i have few patients who underwent Bypass surgery twice and have multiple stents.As far as number of stents is concerned, no figure is considered too many.I have knowledge of more than 20 stents in one patient.so you need not worry about number of stents.But you must be careful for your life style and high dose of statin may be given( even if cholesterol is normal).For this you should discuss with your treating doctor.
