Any Suggestion For Having Heavy Bleeding With Large Clots After Taking Utovlan?

Hi, I was prescribed utovlan to stop my period for my wedding last week, I have since stopped taking the tablets andbhave started bleeding and it is terrible! Very very heavy with large clots. Period started back 2 days ago and is gradually getting worse. How long does it take to slow down as it s horrendous!

Hi,

Utovlan is a hormone progesterone derivative which works to built inner wall of uterus, endometrium) in menstrual cycle. You took these tablets to postpone your periods. The medicine caused more thickness of the endometrium, that's why the excess bleeding. It should stop at the most in a week's time. You should take rest, nourishing diet, have cap. Cvp gynae, over the counter (2 caps three times a day after food) for profuse bleeding. If it does not stop in 7 days, consult the prescribing doctor, for more specific medication.
