Any Side Effects Of Montek Taken For Severe Allergy Problem With Body Itching Or Rhinitis ?
hello, i am suffering from sever allergy problem where i get sever body itching or sever rhinitis. i am perfectly alright when i take Montek lc, but as i stop the tab symptoms recur. so i just want o know how long can i take this tab n its side effects. thank you.....

Montek, which is also called by the medical name of montelukast is a widely used medicine for asthma and allergies. It is especially beneficial in children as it provides help in controlling asthma attacks. Technically this medication provides protection against all forms of allergies to some degree but it is mostly used in asthma.
Regarding its side effects, Montek is considered one of the very safe drugs with no to very little side effects. Around 5 out of 100 people may note side effects if used for long term. Adverse effects that can be noted is a respiratory infection, cough, fever or pharyngitis. But this only happens rarely and only when used in larger than normal doses for long periods of time.
Having said that, it is advisable to visit a dermatologist to check the cause of body itching so that specific medication may be given as Montek may not be sufficient.
