Any Schedule For Hep B Vaccines?

I was recently assigned to work in a new group home where one of the individuals has hep b. I had not previously been vaccinated for the virus, so I chose to take the accelerated series of shots. The nurse scheduled 3 shots for the series, with the last shot being given at exactly 3 weeks after the 1st shot, and the second shot was given exactly 1 week after the first. After doing some online research, I have found no such schedule forf hep b vaccines. The least amount of time i found for the eries of shots, was 3 months, si I decided to postpone my 3rd shot for another two wweeks, having already had my first two. Did I make the correct move, or am I wrong in my bekliefs that the series should take longer than three weeks?

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
The best schedule for hepatitis B vaccination is to take 3 injections and the fist one now, second one is after 1 month, and the third one is after 6 moths from the first injection(0, 1, and 6 months).
Another schedule is one injection now, second one is after one months, and the third one is after 3 months from first injection(0, 1, and 3 months).
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.

Hi, In fact you applied the rapid immunisation schedule. This schedule is used becouse you are at very high risk of infection. So, don't delay thethird dose.
