hi.I have a problem with high level of TSH.nealy a year ago I was diagnosticated with papilary carcinoma af thyriod gland.I had a total thyroidectomy and tratement with I radioactiv.now I have very high level af TSH.I want to now if I am at risk of recurent papylary carcinoma.thank you.excuse me my bad English.
Hello and welcome to HCM! I read carefully your situation and i do understand your concern. First of all i have to inform you that papillary thyroid cancer is not very aggressive and has a very good prognosis if it is diagnosed at early stages and if it is treated properly. One of the main factors that prevent the recurrencies is the low TSH level ( If there would have remained even some thyroid cells not removed by the intervention, or if there is any metastases in the whole body scan, than a high TSH would stimulate them, that is why is recommended that during the first years after diagnoses the TSH should be Hope you have a clear opinion now.
