After Removing Black Colored Fluid From The Leg, Diabetic Patient Is Not Waking Up

My father is a diabetic, he was in the emergency hospital for the last three days for sudden swollen of one his leg. They have remove fluid s from the legs which is black in color. But now the problem is after they have done that, he went to sleep but until now, he is not waking up no matter how they shake his body.

Hi.. Sepsis can result in altered consciouness.. It may be the probable reason for his unresponsive state. Sepsis results from infection that has spread extensively and is related more to his diabetic condition and not due to the procedure.. There are a few more causes that can also trigger this unfortunate event. The doctor's treating him may be able to help you better in knowing his condition and about the treatment.. My prayers are with your dad.. Wish he recovers soon..

hi,thanks for query.There could various reason for this,the possible reasons could be spread of infection to other parts of body known as septicemia,variation in blood sugar which can damage brain.Some alteration of electrolytes can lead to this.At times damage kidney can lead to built of toxic chemicals in the body and affect the brain.Please discuss with your doctor about this in detail.
