90 Years. Rough, Red, Little Swollen, Itchy, Painful Rashes On Heel. No Help From Nystatin And Keflex. Athletes Foot?
My mother is 90 and has developed a rash on her heal running up the back of her leg. it is rough leather like red and seems to be swollen somewhat. It itches some and hurts a little. She went to a local doctor and he gave her Nystatin and Keflex. I believe it is a type athletes foot. She has been on this for two weeks and it keeps getting worse. Any suggestions.
Hi, It seems that she is having bed sore on heal, back side due to continuous remain in touch with bed. Continue applying cream locally. Put a pillow under calf muscles and keep heal up. Change her position off an on to avoid constant pressure and contact with bed. You may use air filled ring under her foot so that affected part remains up. Do regular dressing with proper cleaning. Keep diabetes under control if she is having. Ok and take care.
