8 Year Old With Headache, Vomiting And Fever. Normal Spinal Tap Report. Need Further Treatment?

My 8 year old has had a Headache, Vomiting and fever since friday. Went to Urgent Care yesterday and they sent him on to the Er. CT scan Normal did a spinal tap -Normal. He cannot stand for the light to eyes wearing sunglasses. They sent us home with phenergan. He is still complaining with a headache and fever. Please help do I need to take him some place else

Dear user,

If he has a significant fever (more than 100 F) and a persistent headache, then, yes, you need to take him to another place for a proper consult. The fact that his CT and spinal tap are normal only rule out brain and spine causes, but those are not the only causes of these two symptoms. Did they check his BP, his urine, his throat, and look for infection with a full blood count?
