Hello
Thanks for the query
The type of rashes and the area involved with typical complain of pain suggests this is Herpes zoster. You have mentioned that eye is also involved, so proper care of eye is must as
Herpes zoster ophthalmicus is a known complication which can also effect the vision.
Your physician has advised you syp phenargan and anthical lotion, both will help in relieving pain and itching.
This is a self limiting condition and management includes prevention of complications like eye involvement, secondary bacterial infection. It is not uncurable disease.
Use of
antiviral drug within 72 hrs of onset of rashes reduces the severity but no effect on long term outcome.
Another complication is postherpetic
neuralgia which can be found in less than 10% cases and even less common in children.
Get an immune profile done for your child as it is common in immunodeficient child.
So I would suggest you to consult an ophthalmologist also for proper eye examination and care and follow the advice of your physician as these skin lesion usually resolves on its own.
Maintain hygiene to prevent bacterial infection and get an immune profile done to rule out
immunodeficiency.
