4 Year Kid, Fever, Loss Of Appetite. Had First Experience With Nitrous Oxide Gas, Lidocaine. Suggestions?

My 4 year old daughter has had low fever 100-101, and thrown up at bedtime the past two nights. She just had her first experience with nitrous oxide gas and lidocaine at the dentist yesterday morning (threw up the first time 10 hours later), and I noticed the fever (99.8) after that. She's not been quite herself today (fever up and down, highest 101.4), eating little (brat diet), and drinking enough. But threw up again in her bed tonight. Could this be related to the dentist visit & procedures? Or unrelated, and at which point do I bring her to dr? We've never had a stomach bug in our family so if it's that I'm not experienced on how to treat.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Following any surgical procedure (including dental) reactionary fever can occur. Vomiting may be a part of it. I suggest that you wait and watch for the next 24 hours before taking further measures. In the interim ensure that the child has adequate fluids and does not get dehydrated.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Hi welcome to Health care magic forum.
Thanks for calling H.C.M.Forum.
Your 4 year daughter had a dentist procedure , from the next day she had fever and vomiting only during sleep.
It appears that due to dental procedure she had an infection, and fever, as she is lying after food though lite getting vomiting.
I advise you to consult a pediatric specialist for diagnosis and treatment. Don't worry she will be fine with some antibiotic and antiemetic, and antipyretic for relief.
Wishing for a quick and complete relief.
Best regards.
