1.7 Year Old Son, Runny Nose, Uneasiness In Throat. Should I Start Relent Syrup?
Dear Doctor,
My son is 1.7 years old and has started runnung nose and a mild uneasiness in the throat since last evening. I have adminstered steam with vicks 3 times now. Will do a couple of more steams may be towards late evening.
Should I start him on Relent Syrup 3.5 ml, The reason Im asking is on earlier occasions whenever he caught a cold, it had worsened and led to wheeze. I want to avoid that. Kindly advise.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You can give relent syrup to your child as it is anti allergy and decongestant syrup. The problem he got last time might be due to severity of infection at that time. If required go for one antibiotic medicine course after consulting your doctor to prevent lower respiratory tract infection.

If child have any fever give syp paracetamol ds 5 ml thrice daily. Nasoclear nasal drops two drops in nose if running nose if there is any wheezing then consult pediatrician.
