General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Having height 143.5 and 39 kg is not much less height and weight.
As her parents are short heighted, her height will remain short to some extent.
Nothing to worry, she will get increasing height up to 20 years.
Give her high protein diet like panier, cheese, butter, ghee, milk, puddings.
Add more pulses, cereals in her diet.
Ask her to go for exercise like running, cycling, jumping ropes, high jump, long jumps and swimming.
Ok and take care.

General & Family Physician Dr. Polash Sannigrahi's  Response
Hello dear,

First of all, please do not get influenced by any over the counter medications or advertisements which claim to increase height...it may be harmful.

Height of an individual is determined by Genetics, Environmental & Nutritional factors and Hormonal factors (most important the Growth Hormone secreted by pituitary gland in brain)
An individual stops growing in height after the fusion of the Epiphyses (growth plates) of the long bones, which occurs by the age of 15-20 yrs in females.

So..she may still have a chance of achieving her dream height.
Make sure that she is taking a healthy & balanced diet, exercise regularly & avoiding stress.
Protein rich diet like soya, groundnut, pulses, etc should be incorporated in her diet plan.

Wishing a Good Health.
Thanks and take care.

Rheumatologist Dr. Dr. Shruti Rijhwani's  Response
Dear madam,

Height is governed by many other factors other than genetics although it plays a role also . Growth hormone helps when there is deficiency of this hormone . I advise you to see an endocrinologist for her assessment.

Take care.
