11 Months Child Having Runny And Stuff Nose, Bumps With Pus Above Top Lips. Using Aquaphor. Concerned
My baby is almost 11 months old. For the past week she has had 3 pimple like bumps above her top lip that will pus up and then go down but they are still red and I m afraid they will get bad again. I have been putting auqafor on them per my dr but do I need to do something else with them? She has also had a runny and stuff nose off and on and is breathing through her mouth could that be why?
thanks for writing to health care magic
I think you kid is having impetigo
It is a bacterial infection
contact with finger and contact the other parts would result in spread of the infection.
a good hand wash is required to be done by who ever handles the baby.
Normally antibiotics orally and locally will be prescribed by your doctor after confirming diagnosis and taking a culture if required.
