1 Year Child, Suffering From Recurring Cold. Taking Montac Lc. Suggestions?

Hello sir I am having one year kid he is suffering from cold regularly every month once in a fifteen days of gap my doctor suggested me to take montac lc kid and he told me when ever he got problem with cold or due to climatic conditions or going for any tour start the dose of montac lc kid at night 1 tablet and I am having one doubt is there any problem for kid if we give montac lc kid for more than 3 months regularly plz suggest me the exact solution for my problem sir thanking u sir

Hi thanks for the query. If there is cold ie running nose with clear secretions lasting for 15 days and more, it is known as ALLERGIC RHINITIS . Children get 6 to 8 episodes per year of simple cold and cough mostly viral which is normal. Each episode usually lasts for a week. But if it persists for more than two weeks then montelucast an anti allergic can be given safely even for an year . If it's controlling child's symptoms continue the same or meet your doctor to upgrade the medicine. Most importantly prevention of infection is only in your hands, doctors only can treat so identify the triggers and prevent especially during rainy and winter season.
