Hi,

There is no result in the report that you had attached where it is written repeat blood sample is needed to perform the tests so don't get worried or tensed and give blood sample again. Be relaxed and get back to me with test results. For any further query feel free to ask me any time.

hello doctor ,
i will tell you the situation , i am a homosexual of age 29 years and i recently had sex with the guys report i sent you , on the same day , i gave him blow job with a condom we did not have any penetrative sex , but when we were placing the condom first the condom was placed in reverse and some amount of precum got attached to it and again i blowed him with the condom on to which the his precum got attached and second thing is he blowed me and i was putting on a condom , what is worrying me when he blowed me he spit out side and i saw the spit it had some traces of blood , he is sexually active now my worry is because of this can i contract HIV as when he blowed me some blood might have come in contact with my penis may be .
so i asked him to go for testing , he gave the sample on friday at collection centre and this is the report .
in what cases do they give this kind of report ?
can you please tell
and what are my chances of infection ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sunil Jangid (18 hours later)
Brief Answer:
No risk of HIV in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

The way of transmission of HIV infection you had mentioned is very unlikely because saliva is not the fluid which transmits HIV and it also contains an enzyme which inhibits the growth of HIV virus so allay the fear or worry because you are safe and risk free. Tell your partner to give the sample again for testing of blood and the report will definitely come in your favour. Be relaxed, forget about the episode and move ahead in life happily.

Thank You

sir ,
the most cause of worry is when he was blowing me and spitted out there was some amount of blood in the spit , i was not putting a condom ? means that blood might have come in contact with with my penis , we smooched also blood might have transfered ??
isnt that a risky ?
i am having swollen lymph node on the right side of the neck and throat infection started today only we did not have penetrative sex , we did not take semen in any of our mouth , that spit in the blood is worrying me a lot .
doctor i want to go for RNA PCR , can you tell me how accurate and the window period of Viral RNA PCR , how early can it detect the viral RNA
and how to keep the immune system in proper place till i get my tests run .
i am having the worst sore throat ever , temperature as of is normal , flu like symptoms started are these acute HIV symptoms ?
is encounter was on 4/5/2018.
when can i go for RNA viral PCR?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sunil Jangid (59 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
RNA PCR is reliable after 15 days of exposure.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back once again.

RNA PCR and 4th Generation HIV test is highly reliable after 15 days of exposure so you can go for it. The symptoms of swollen lymph node and throat infection might be due to some other reason but not related to HIV in any way so be relaxed, forget about the episode and move ahead in life happily.

Thank You

hello sir ,
As per your advice i have undergone HIV DUO COMBO and HIV RNA PCR ASSAY on the 12th day post exposure , and i have attached the reports
HIV DUO COMBO IS NON REACTIVE
HIV RNA PCR IS NOT DETECTED .
Is it a good indication atleast on the RNA assay , my worry is did the test cover O group or no ?
As it not mentioned in the report about O group
how common is O group HIV 1
It is making me nervous
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sunil Jangid (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Yes definitely it is good indication.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome to HCM once again.

HIV RNA PCR and HIV Duos Combo both are negative after 12 days of exposure then it is definitely good indication for you. As far as group O is considered it is common in West XXXXXXX or Camerrians but not in XXXXXXX so don't get worried about the same. Be relaxed and move on in life happily.

hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply
I am a male homosexual guy , i have this mental trauma every time , i try to refrain myself from having sex to maximum extent possible but then at a point i give up and end up falling in trouble , i cannot get married and spoil a girls life being XXXXXXX ,
I take utmost care when having sex , i make sure i use condoms but still at certain times things like this happen ,
This time it was near death experience as the guy was a confirm positive for HIV 1 and not on ART.
he looked very healthy and fit and fine so i blowed him with condom and he blowed me without condom and that blood in spit took away life from me .
i was scared and asked him to get tested and he turned out to be positive that worried me even more and I went for RNA PCR on 12 th day the result is not detected
now please help to come out of all this as its scary , kindly tell me some safest sex practices
as i cannot take any more mental trauma . How to come out of all this mental truma

Sir,
Can I take this PCR report as conclusive or should i go for further testing , sir are PCR reliable after 12 days of exposure , what are the chances of this not detectable becoming detectable in due course of time ?
Is there any chance a non reactive at 12 days become reactive later ?
The service provider i.e the lab people told that the window for PCR is as early as seven days is that true ?
should i consider retesting ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sunil Jangid (41 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
You need to get tested again after 3 months.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

The lab people told correctly that the window period for HIV RNA test is within 15 days and the chances of result being changed to positive after negative result at 12 days are also very less so don't get afraid about the result.

As the window period for HIV infection varies from 15 days to 3 months you need to get tested again after the window period for infection and the result will definitely come in your favor. Be relaxed and live your life normally.
