today ive been feeling pretty rubbish with cold/flu. anyway my left eye went funny. in the corner of my eye I could see a sort of half XXXXXXX and flashing and when I looked to the side it was blurry. it only lasted for about 10 minutes. it went away when i sat down and shut my eyes for a minute. why?

it has not happened again it only happened the once does this mean it probably is not serious?
