The most common reason for delayed menses in women , once pregnancy has been ruled out is in most cases stress induced hormonal imbalance. However other organic causes are Hypothyroidism, hyperprolactinemia and PCOD or polycystic ovarian disease.
These can be evaluated with a hormonal profile and an ultrasound pelvis.
