I Mentioned Bactrim Ds To My Dr Amd He Said

Question: i mentioned bactrim ds to my dr amd he said it was useless. he prescribed 5 pills of 250mg terbinifine and told me to continie using nystatin cream. as you can guess it hasnt helped. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me bactrim ds or is there a way to get a orescription from you?

Bactrim is an oral antibiotic whereas Terbinafine is an oral antifungal. So they are entirely different class of drugs. Choice amongst either of these would basically depend on the diagnosis. I have viewed the images. I don't really think you need to take bactrim. This is most likely balanitis. I think you can try using clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily. You may also take a tablet of fluconazole 150mg for 3 days. Avoid soap or anything harsh etc. Take care.
