Question: i have this rash on my thigh towards the back, which was itchy earlier and now it’s kinda sore, I have what the doctor believes is shingles on another part off my body but now since this has appeared I am not convinced the first was shingles, do you have any idea what this is?

Brief Answer:
Insect bite hypersensitivity reaction or vasculitis, answer few questions

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photograph.
There are few possibilities: either insect bite hypersensitivity reaction or vasculitis.
What is the duration of the rash?
Do you have any history of fever, cough, sore throat, loose motions prior to the eruption?
Have you taken any medicines prior to the eruption of rash?
Do you have any other ailments?
Is it very painful or associated with itching?
Kindly revert with the answers.

I had a bad cold about 3 weeks ago now
I had a sore tummy and upset tummy last week aswell.

The first rash which a doctor has said is shingles I’ve had a week this one only 2 days, it’s not that itchy it was at first.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be small vessel vasculitis, get some tests done

Detailed Answer:
It most likely seems to be small vessel vasculitis.
It could be related to infection.
I would recommend you to get your urine routine examination, complete blood count, liver function tests and renal function tests done.
Meanwhile you can apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream on the affected area twice daily along with antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime for 10 days.
Steroidal preparations are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
