Would Antidepressants Show False Positive On A Drug Test For Cannabis?

Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: I have a psychiatric Dr that has been prescribing me Zoloft and wellbutrin, buspar and Xanax. I have been seeing her for 10+ years She has never drug screened me, and we have a very good Dr/Patient relationship. I've recently discovered that Cannabis edibles once or twice a week really really helps my sex life. I am scared of what happens if she somehow found out. Seriously, I've been on meds for so many years that my sex life was pretty well non existent. It's literally the best sex I've had in over a decade. What happens if she finds out, and what should I say if for some reason she decides to drug screen me, and what are the chances of that?

Brief Answer:
The chances of drug screen are very low.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from Healthcaremagic.com

I can understand your concern. Normally if you haven't been subjected to any drug screen so far then I don't think they will suspect anything in your next appointment. No need to worry.

Even the medicines you are taking could cause false positive tests for drug screens. Zoloft is one of drug which might cause false positive. So if you have to undergo test for drug screen then better to refuse that you have taken any cannabinoid. Tell them that this could be false positive result and they have to believe you.

Thanks. Take care

Are Drs ever required to screen, or is it always at their discretion?

Last question, then I will give you an excellent rating, because you have been very helpful. If I refuse a screen, why would they have to believe me, wouldn't they drop me or something? Sorry to be a pest. I'm quite sure I couldn't say false positive, my Dr wouldn't believe that. Thanks in advance, sincerely.

Brief Answer:
The possibility of test is rare

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

If the clinic asks you to go for drug screen then you can't refuse else they can drop you. But the possibility of this is very rare.

Thanks
