Question: i want to start taking a memory supplement that contains 150 mg of L-theanine and i want to know if this will interact with with any of my medications which are allopurinol 100mg 1/day, simvastatin 40mg 1/day atenolol 50mg in the morning 25mg in the evening, amlodipine 5mg in the evening,losartan 50 mg in the morning 50mg in the evening, hydrochloriazide 25mg in the morning

Hello,

L-Theanine, when take along with blood pressure medication (Amlodipine, atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide, losartan), can drop your blood pressure to too low levels.

There is no absolute contraindication on taking L-Theanine while on these medications. You just have to be cautious about blood pressure going low. Please keep an eye on whether you are developing symptoms of hypotension like dizziness, palpitation etc. If any of these symptoms develop, discontinue L-theanine.
