Brief Answer: Yes,it can cause pain when inflammed, infected. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thanks for writing to us You don't worry.Simple cysts of kidney are due to aging and mostly these are asymptomatic incidental finding. Occasionally (in 4-6 % of cases)they become symptomatic due to infection, hemorrhage etc and may present with flank pain, abdominal discomfort, palpable mass or hematuria. You also have moderate fatty liver. Most of the cases of fatty liver are reversible. You need to change your diet and life style. You should increase your physical activity and do brisk walking and exercise. You should take lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Avoid saturated & trans fat, fried food, red meat, high fat milk products. Use olive oil for cooking. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you take these things. You should take restricted amount of salt in your diet. You need few investigation like Lipid profile. If there is altered lipid profile then you may need medicines. Get well soon. Hope i have answered your query. Further queries are most welcome. Take Care Dr.Indu XXXXXXX
