Will Voltaren Gel Cause Swelling In The Ankles?

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Oct 2016
Question: I am wondering if the use of Voltaren Gel for the arthritis in my knee (1-2X/day) can cause my ankles to swell. I do not eat premade(high salt food), I live in XXXXXXX (& it is not humid out now) and this has not happened to me before even 35 years ago when I was pregnant.

Brief Answer:
It is not due to volition gel

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can assure you that volition gel does not causes swelling in the ankle. Following can be causes for this knee swelling.
1.High blood pressure
2.Very tight knee cap or bandage
3.standing for long time
4.Diabetes or Thyroid
I would suggest you to do following.
1.Please check your blood pressure and urea and creatinine level. Also we need to check your thyroid and blood sugar. Any such abnormality can cause ankle swelling. Avoid standing for long time, and keep your feet elevated over pillow. It will cure your swelling.
Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
