Question: I had my last menstural period on 9.11.2015. I didnt had period till 19.12.2015. Doctor had done upt and beta hcg test . Both were negative. In usg g sac was seen and it is saying that pregnancy is of 5weeks and 2 days. She is also saying that primolut is category x drug at the other time she is saying that that period of 20 to 25 dec is safe when i took the drug. She is also confused. Brief Answer:
Do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Primolut N is norethisterone which is pregnancy category D drug.
It means that it is generally not recommended in pregnancy, because there us increased risk of adverse effects on the fetus have been seen in women taking this drug in pregnancy.
However, the adverse effects on the fetus are not 100% and not seen in all the patients.
Moreover, if your ultrasound on 5/1/16 showed a pregnancy of 5 weeks2 days, that means you might have conceived around 13-14/12/15. So you took the primolut after conception.
But taking primolut is not an indication for termination of pregnancy, so you can continue with the pregnancy.
Iwill suggest you to get a detailed anomaly ultrasound at 18-20 weeks of pregnancy to rule out any congenital anomalies.
I suggest you to not to take stress.
I have seen many patients who took primolut in pregnancy, having healthy pregnancy and

Brief Answer:
No central nervous system anomalies

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Do not be stressed out.
Primolut N is known to cause genital and urinary tract anomalies in the fetus, if at all it causes, which is rare.
It is not known to cause any brain anomaly or deranged mental development of the fetus.
Please be calm, and do not panic.
18-20 weeks is never too late for termination of pregnancy, in case any major abnormality is detected.
Let the fetus has its chances, so I suggest you to continue with the pregnancy.
There are very minor chances of congenital anomaly in the fetus.
I am always here to help you.

Brief Answer:
MTP safe till 20 weeks of gestation

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Genitourinary anomalies include masculinisation of female fetus.
It is an extremely rare anomaly.
It is difficult to detect by ultrasound, however can be detected by a fetal medicine specialist.
It is safe to get MTP done till 20 weeks of pregnancy.
