So we went to doc she recommended deviry 10 mg after after 2-3 days she got her periods . From april we started our family planning again she didn't get periods again we tested and doc again recmmend same tablet . She had 7 days that tablet in mid of May. Till now no periods and wife behaviour id changing so i tell her to test again . Today we found test positive. So my question is that is there any side effect of deviry 10 mg . Or what about her pregnancy now is it safe?

Brief Answer:
Deviry contraindicated in pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Deviry is medroxyprogesterone acetate which is given for withdrawal bleeding in case of amenorrhea. It is a pregnancy category X drug which means that it is contraindicated in pregnancy. It has a increased risk of causing hypospadias, clitoral enlargement, and labial fusion in fetus, if mother is exposed to the drug in first trimester of pregnancy.
I would suggest you to consult a fetal medicine specialist so that you can get proper counselling and a detailed anomaly ultrasound at18-20 weeks to rule out any congenital anomalies in fetus.
Moreover, I suggest you to get a ultrasound done now to confirm the gestation age and she should start taking folic acid tablet daily as taking it in first trimester of pregnancy reduces the risk of congenital anomalies in the fetus.

Wishing you both good health.

Brief Answer:
detailed anomaly scan at 18-20 weeks gestation

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for responding. It's good to hear that your wife's ultrasound report is normal. The risk of congenital anomalies is there in fetus, as I have mentioned earlier, and these can be detected at 18-20 weeks of pregnancy in a detailed anomaly ultrasound.
There is no risk of any adverse effects on your wife due to Deviry.
Be positive and hopeful.
