Why Are Mammogram And Sonogram Tests Conducted?
Question: HELLO, I JUST HAD MY FIRST MAMOGRAM DONE ON MARCH 20,2015. THE DOC. OFFICE CALLED ME THAT AFTERNOON AND SAID THAT THEY NEED TO HAVE ANOTHER TEST DONE AND AND A SONAGRAM. YHERE IS NO HISTORY OF BREAST CANCER IN MY FAMILY, I AM 47 YEARS OLD, I DO NOT SMOKE OR DRINK, ALSO DURING THE TIME OF THE TEST MY PERIOD HAD BEEN 3MTHS LATE, [3 DAYS LATER IT HAD ARRIVED] I AM NOT PREGNATE JUST BEEN UNDER A A LOT OF STRESS. COULD THIS CAUSE A DIFFERENT OR ABNORMAL RESULTS. MY SECOND TEST WILL BE MONDAY MARCH 30,2015

I read your question and i understand your concern. Mammogram is a normal annual screening program and should be done in every woman. As far as sonogram is concerned that is a simple ultrasound of the breast . That too is the reason for screening purposes.
With no family history, no visible change in breast anatomy like inverted nipples or abnormal discharge etc. then no worries. It is just for screening purposes only. I am sure the labs will come clear.
A simple stress can not cause a deranged result. So no worries.
