My last menstrual period was February 6th. My periods are regular but very short and light. Last month my period was 3 days early though. My periods last 2 days. We've been trying to get pregnant for 7 months now. Sometimes when having sexual intercourse, I have some lower abdominal pain. I have some vaginal discharge but no bleeding right now. I've checked my temperature, it's never been below 100.6 unless I'm outside with the wind blowing on me. right now my temperature is 102.4. I've been going to the bathroom more than I usually do with no pain during urination. I don't take medicine, only prenatal vitamins. I don't have any medical conditions.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Since you are experiencing increased frequency of urination along with fever, Urinary tract infection is a concern (even though you are not actively having pain).

Urine analysis and culture are required for the confirmation of diagnosis.
I would also recommend getting urine pregnancy test done too. Pregnancy can increase your core body temperature.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for confirmation of diagnosis.
If the urinary infection is confirmed, antibiotics will be initiated.

Hope this answers your question
Please let me know if you need further clarification

Dr.Lekshmi

Brief Answer:
There are safe antibiotics for use during pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

If at all, UTI is confirmed, there are safe choices of antibiotic if you are pregnant. The antibiotic like Nitrofurantoin is very good in treating UTI and safe during pregnancy.

Many women experience UTI in early pregnancy and are safely given antibiotics. Please do not worry.
