Posted on Wed, 19 Oct 2016
Question: I've been diagnosed with blood clots in the lower leg previously. I've recently relocated from Central Florida to South XXXXXXX so away from my regular doctor. I'm having similar pains / issues as before. What type of doctor ( i.e. specialty ) do i need to look for locally to re-address this issue.

Thanks,
doctor

Brief Answer:
You need vascular medicine specialist/ vascular surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

You had blood clot in leg. So it it deep vein thrombosis.

You have similar pain in leg. Si it is most likely to be due to recurrent deep vein thrombosis.

You should consult thrombosis clinic if available.

You need heparins or thrombolytic treatment.
In more severe cases thrombectomy may be needed.

So vascular medicine specialist or vascular surgeon are the best to deal with situation.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me.
I will be happy to answer.
