When Does BP Go Down After Getting Off Of Benadryl?

Question: HI I have been off Benadryl (25mg per night for 18 months) for 16 days. My blood pressure is 162/78. I no longer have headaches but will the BP come down? I had been given BP meds but headaches were intense. If it comes down how long? Thanks

Hi,

At this age, possibility of blood pressure getting down to normal is low. However I would monitor the blood pressures a month or two after starting blood pressure medicines.

Since you have history of diabetes and high blood pressure, I would also like you base line evaluation of heart done. Discuss with your treating physician.
