As you know azithromycin is an antibiotic and it is a prescription drug. No one should take this tablet without being advice by a doctor and examination by a doctor.

Taking any prescription drug without advice may put you in trouble some time.Ideally the chemist should not dispense this without prescription.

Normal adult dose is 1 tablet of 500mg for 3-5 days depending upon the severity of infection and your weight.
